Freshman David Napper's time of 4:13.43 in the mile run qualified him for the upcoming IC4As, while senior Nate Lawrie threw a distance of 51 feet 1.75 inches in the shot put to give him a qualifying score as well. The Elis fell to the Big Red 100-36.
Aside from Napper's victory in the mile and Lawrie's second-place finish to Cornell's Zach Beadle in the shot put and second place standing in the weight throw as well, the Elis saw strong performances from several other athletes.
Jihad Beauchman earned second in the triple jump with a distance of 14.11 meters as well as third in the high jump with a height of 2.01m. In the mile, Nathan Clute and Brian Gertzen finished second and third, respectively, while Russell Kempf and Omari Douglas-Hall came in second and third in the 55-meter dash with times of 6.64 and 6.65.
Matthew Boshart ran the 1000-meter run in 2:30.44 to place second in the event, and Wyatt Golding had the same standing in the 3000-meter run with his time of 8:58.37.
