Boston - Three individuals and three Yale relay teams qualified after the first day of preliminaries at the IC4A Championship Saturday in Boston. Yale's best finish came in the 4x400m relay, where the Bulldogs placed second by .09 seconds, finishing in 3:13.04 to Long Island's 3:12.13.
Yale's 4x800m relay team placed third (7:37.15), and the distance medley relay team placed fourth (9:56.80). Individually, Brandon Giles had Yale's top finish by placing fifth in the 55m dash (6.48). Shomari Taylor qualified in the 500m run (1:04.27), earning a 10th-place finish and the final qualifying spot by four-hundedths of a second. Dan O'Brien placed 17th in the 55m hurdles with a time of 7.71 to round out Yale's list of qualifiers.
The meet concludes Sunday.
