Cheng Wins 100 and 200-Meter Dashes at Brown Invite

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Elis traveled to the Brown Invitational at Brown Stadium on Saturday afternoon, fighting strong winds and cold weather. They earned seven first place finishes, along with numerous other top three finishes. Yale's double event winner for the day was Victor Cheng in the 100 and 200-meter dashes, finishing with times of 11.11 and 22.61.

Omari Douglas-Hall was third in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.52, while Russ Kempf was third in the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.18. Another event winner was Dan O'Brien in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.66. Just behind him was Ted Galligan in third with a time of 16.12. Galligan was also third in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 55.32.

Samuel Fox won the high jump at a height of 1.99 meters, while teammate Jeffrey Lachman won the discus throw with a distance of 48.90 meters, almost two meters ahead of the rest of the competition.

In the javelin throw, Kevin Hickenbottom and Jackson Womack were second and third with distances of 53.56 and 52.72.

Eric Kerchberger and Andrew Samuel were second and third in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with times of 9:34.40 and 9:48.74.

In the 800-meter run, Matt Bordoni was third with a time of 1:55.26.

The 4x100 and 4x400-meter relays were victorious as well, winning with times of 41.96 and 3:19.96.
