DES MOINES, Iowa - Wednesday, junior Jeffrey Lachman and sophomore Eric DePalo made their first ever appearances at the NCAA Division I National Championships hosted by Drake University. The meet brought together over 500 men to compete for national recognition. In the first flight of the discus throw, Lachman posted a mark of 49.82 meters (163'05"), good enough for tenth place in the flight and twenty-first place overall.
DePalo did not record a height in the pole vault, which had a difficult opening height of 4.95 meters.
While neither of the Bulldogs advanced to the final round on Friday, both will have the opportunity to return to the NCAA Championships next year. The 2008 outdoor season has come to an end, and a talented group of returning athletes look to continue this year's success into next season as well.
