Yale Defeats Birmingham, St. Mary's

BIRMINGHAM, England - The combined team of Harvard and Yale worked together to beat Birmingham and St. Mary's Tuesday afternoon. Yale and Harvard scored 140 points, while Birmingham was second at 89 points and St. Mary's had 24 points. Brandon Giles led the way by winning both the 100 (10.97) and 200-meter (22.50) dashes.

Omari Douglas-Hall was second behind Giles in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.00, while Russ Kempf was fourth with a time of 11.44. Kempf was also second in the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.09.

Matthew Bordoni won the 800-meter run by a second with a time of 1:54.42. Tadhg O'Callaghan was third (1:56.50).

The Bulldogs took first and third in the 1,500-meter run with Jake Gallagher leading the way with a time of 3:48.56 and Jared Bell taking the third spot with a time of 3:50.13.

Success was found in the field events as well with Reynolds Holmes winning the long jump with a distance of 6.97 meters. Samuel Fox won the high jump at a height of 1.95 meters, while John Langhauser won the shot put with a distance of 15.79 meters.

Nathan Noll won the hammer (46.39 meters) and teammate Jackson Womack won the javelin (56.36 meters).

The other winners for the day included the 4x100 and 4x400-meter relay teams with times of 42.26 and 3:19.65.

Dan O'Brien was second in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.73.
