HAMDEN, Conn. - The Yale men's cross country team raced close to home on Friday, finishing second at the Quinnipiac Invitational with 69 points. The hosts Bobcats finished first with 22 points. The Bulldogs were lead by freshman Matthew Bogdan with a time of 27:28.6, an eighth-place finish.
The second runner for Yale was sophomore Kevin Brown, placing 13th (27:51.5). Following Brown was freshman David Demres, clocking 28:22.0, good enough for 17th place. Sophomore Bryce Scanlan, only seven seconds behind Demres, finished 19th. Freshman Peter Vizcarrondo finished 22nd, completing the top five runners for Yale. The Elis ran a tight race, as the top five runners all finished within a minute and a half of each other.
The Bulldogs will travel to Orono, Maine, to race next weekend in the University of Maine Murray Keatinge Invitational.
