Hamden, Conn. - Members of the Yale men's cross country team placed third in the team competition at the Quinnipiac Invitational, led by 15th-place finisher Rolando Garcia.

Garcia, a freshman, posted a time of 27:15.5, the first of five Yale finishers in the top 46. Junior Mark Turner placed 27th in 27:41.6, followed by Erik Brown in 36th (27:57.3), Eric Kerchberger in 43rd (28:14.5) and Tyler Matthews in 46th (28:18.4).

Yale totaled 158 points. The host Bobcats scored 27 points to edge Connecticut (30) and win the meet.

The rest of the Elis will be in action Saturday at the Paul Short Invitational, hosted by Lehigh in Bethlehem, Pa.
