Terre Haute, Ind. - Freshman Lindsay Donaldson (Lincoln, Mass.), sophomore Cara Kiernan (Vienna, Va.) and senior Lucas Meyer (Ridgefield, Conn.) each turned in great performances to earn All-America honors in the 2004 NCAA Division I Cross Country Championships hosted by Indiana State University Monday morning.

Donaldson finished sixth overall in the 6000-meter race with a time of 20:40, the best finish by any of the freshmen in the race. She tied the mark for the second-best finish ever by an Ivy League woman.

Donaldson came to Yale with an impressive resume, having won state championships in cross country and the indoor mile while at Lincoln-Sudbury high school.

Kiernan came in 33rd with a time of 21:09.4. At last year's NCAAs she placed 61st and was the fourth freshman to cross the line.

Meyer, the Yale captain, placed 18th in the 10,000-meter race with a time of 31:23.9. This was his second straight trip to the NCAAs.

The race was held under partly cloudy skies after overnight and early morning rain. Providence's Kim Smith won the women's individual championship with a time of 20:08.5. Wisconsin's Simon Bairu was first for the men (30:37.7). Colorado won both team championships.
