BRONX, N. Y. - Saturday, the Bulldogs braved a windy, sub-20 degree morning at the 100th annual IC4A Championships. The 5-mile race at Van Cortlandt Park included teams from throughout the East. The Bulldogs cruised to a seventh-place finish despite racing without four of the top-five finishers from last weekend's NCAA Northeast Regional Championships, while Duke won the team title with a score of 48 points. After sitting out last weekend, senior Murat Kayali led the Bulldogs with his 13th-place finish, crossing the line in 25:41.

The individual winner was Duquesne senior Josh Eddy, who finished in a time of 25:11.

The success of the young Bulldog squad was in the closeness of their pack: the next four Elis finished less than 25 seconds apart from each other, placing among the top 60 in a field of over 120 runners. Freshman Jake McKenzie (34th, 26:00) led the pack, followed by junior Max Brown (43rd, 26:07), freshman Nathan Richards (51st, 26:13) and sophomore Max Walden (58th, 26:23).

Yale's score of 195 points fell just short of Ivy rivals Princeton (5th, 183 pts.) and Columbia (6th, 193 pts.), but overpowered Harvard (11th, 271 pts.). The Crimson prevailed over the Bulldogs in all of their prior meetings this season, but lacked depth to match Yale this time.

While the 2008 cross-country season has concluded, the Bulldogs will return when they commence their indoor track season on Dec. 6th at home for the Lidifter Invitational.
