NEW HAVEN, Conn. - This Saturday, the Bulldogs will conclude their season at the 100th annual IC4A (Intercollegiate Association of Amateur Athletes of America) Championships at Van Cortlandt Park. The 5-mile race, which will commence at 10:45 a.m., will include teams from throughout the Eastern region. The Yale squad looks to close its season with a strong finish at this meet.
Last year, the Bulldogs placed sixth at IC4As despite missing three of their top four finishers from the previous meet. Georgetown won the meet with a score of 38 points.
The Bulldogs had a strong finish last week at the NCAA Northeast Regional Championships, finishing 11th in a field of over 30 teams. Captain Jake Gallagher led the team in scoring with his 35th-place finish. After racing the difficult 10,000-meter course on Van Cortlandt Park last weekend, the return to the 8,000-meter distance for IC4As should be a welcome change.
At this year's meet, some of the runners are opting to rest for the fast-approaching track season, which will give younger and less experienced members of the team a prime opportunity to gain experience racing at Van Cortlandt Park, which is the site of the annual Heptagonal Ivy League Championships.
Results will be posted on the Yale Athletics website at the conclusion of the meet.
