Bulldogs Open Home Schedule With Busy Saturday

Yale Faces Dartmouth & Boston Univ. In The Morning; Races Cornell In Afternoon

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – For the second straight Saturday, the Yale women's crew will race twice. The good news for the Bulldogs this week is they will be in a far more familiar setting. Yale races on the Housatonic River for the first time this spring when Dartmouth, Boston University and Cornell visit Gilder Boathouse.

The Class of 1985 Cup will be at stake when the Bulldogs meet Dartmouth and Boston University starting at 8 a.m. Later in the day, at 4 p.m., Yale and Cornell will race for the Cayuga Cup.

Free video of both races is available here.

Yale, ranked 13th in this week's CRCA/US Rowing national poll, faced No. 2 Michigan and No. 7 Ohio State in Columbus, Ohio, last Saturday. The road doesn't get much easier for the Bulldogs this week. Dartmouth is ranked 19th, Boston University is receiving votes in the poll and Cornell is No. 16.

"We are excited to race a double header again this weekend," said Yale head coach Will Porter. "Our schedule this year is the most difficult we have had in the past 10 years. Every race is against fast teams. If we are still standing by the end of the regular season, we will have seen it all."

The Bulldogs have won the Class of 1985 Cup in each of the last 12 years.

Cornell captured the Cayuga Cup last year by winning the varsity eight race. Yale won the other three races.
