Bulldogs Ranked 11th In CRCA/USRowing Preseason Poll

Spring Season Starts Mar. 30 Against Penn & Columbia

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale women's crew will begin the season in a familiar position – nationally ranked. The Bulldogs are 11th in the CRCA/USRowing preseason coaches poll. Yale garnered 276 points and is one of six Ivy League teams ranked.

Defending NCAA champion Virginia received 20 of 25 first-place votes and sits atop the poll. California is second followed by Princeton, Southern California and Washington. The other four Ivy teams in the poll are Harvard (10th), Brown (13th), Cornell (15th) and Columbia (t-18th).

In addition to the five other Ivy teams in the poll, Yale also will race No. 17 Clemson during the season.

The Bulldogs, who open the season on Mar. 30 against Penn and Columbia in Philadelphia, return 16 rowers that went to the NCAA Championship last spring, helping Yale to a 10th place finish. The Bulldogs have had at least one crew compete in the NCAA Championship in each of the last 13 years.
