Ayers Earns Academic All-District Honor
Selected In At-Large Division
NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Margaret Ayers, the coxswain for the Yale varsity four crew, has been named to the Academic All-District 1 Women's At-Large Team.
Ayers, a senior, has guided the Bulldogs to an 8-3 record this spring and a No. 4 seed at Sunday's Ivy League Championship. As a team, Yale is ranked ninth in the nation.
Ayers, a Portland, Maine, native, is in her third year as the varsity four coxswain. In her junior year, Yale finished fourth in the grand final at the NCAA Championship, and as a sophomore, she coxed the Bulldogs to a bronze medal at the Eastern Sprints.
At Yale, she resides in Jonathan Edwards College and is a biomedical engineering major.
The Academic All-District teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom.
First team Academic All-District honorees advance to the Capital One Academic All-America Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.
