Bulldogs Host Columbia, Penn In First Home Race
NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale women's crew opened the spring season with an impressive performance, capturing the Longhorn Invitational at the University of Texas last weekend. The Bulldogs get back to more familiar opponents when they host Columbia and Penn at the Gilder Boathouse on Saturday. The first race is slated to go off at 8:30 a.m.
The varsity eights will be racing for the Connell Cup. Last year, Columbia captured the Cup for the first time, finishing nearly five seconds faster than Yale.
The Lions swept three races at the Governor's Cup in Florida last weekend, beating Barry and Florida Tech.
Penn also started the season well, defeating Saint Joseph's and George Washington in four races on the Schuylkill River.
