Bulldogs Back On Housatonic To Face Cornell
Varsity Eights Race For Cuyaga Cup
NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale women's crew returns to the Housatonic River on Saturday to host Cornell. Racing gets under way at 8 a.m. with the third varsity eight. The Yale lightweights will also be rowing Georgetown.
The Bulldogs are ranked ninth in this week's CRCA-US Rowing national poll, while Cornell comes in at No. 19.
The varsity eights will be racing for the Cayuga Cup. Yale reclaimed the cup last year after an impressive five second victory on the Cayuga Lake Inlet.
Yale's varsity eight is undefeated, posting three victories at the Longhorn Invitational and then sweeping Penn and Columbia last Saturday.
"We are looking to build upon last week's race and have some fun racing it up," said Yale head coach Will Porter. "It is a long season. When it is cold and rainy, it is hard to believe we will ever race in the warm weather. We just want to take a step forward."
