Yale Ranked 3rd In Preseason Poll

March 11, 2004

NEW HAVEN, Conn - The Yale women's crew is ranked third in the USRowing/Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association NCAA Division I Varsity Eight Coaches Preseason Poll. The Bulldogs, who received eight first-place votes, had 314 points, tied with Princeton for the third most. Brown is ranked first, followed by Michigan.

"This is the highest we have been ranked in the preseason polls, and it is certainly a compliment to our program," said Yale Head Coach Will Porter. "We also know that polls mean nothing. What we are ranked after the last race of the season is what counts. I know our team is just excited to get it going. We have been training hard and our team is ready to have some fun."

Yale's first race is March 27 against Penn and Columbia in Philadelphia.
