Five Yale Rowers Named CRCA National Scholar Athletes

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association announced its list of National Scholar Athletes for the 2006 season on Monday and five Yale rowers were recognized. Emily Cleveland, Suzanne Salgado, Jamie Redman, Joanna Hess and Jane Moore all had a 3.5 or higher cumulative grade point average and competed in at least 75 percent of the 2006 spring races.
A total of 135 student athletes from 50 different schools were honored for their efforts. Central Florida had six selections, the most of any school, while Yale, Clemson, Delaware, Rhode Island and Villanova each had five rowers chosen.
Yale will compete in the NCAA Team Championships on May 26-28 at the Finn Caspersen Rowing Center in West Windsor, N.J.
