NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Ashley Brzozowicz '04 has been selected to represent Canada at the FISA World Rowing Championships from Aug. 20-27 in Eton, England. Brozozowicz, who was in the No. 6 seat in Yale's varsity eight that finished second at the 2004 NCAA Championships, will row in Canada's eight at the championship, which attracts close to 1000 rowers from five continents.
In addition, two Yale incoming freshmen - Hayley Johnson and Maren McCrea - will compete in the World Rowing Junior Championships this weekend in Amsterdam. Johnson, a native of Woodway, Wash., won the 2x at the US Rowing Youth Invitational Nationals. McCrea, of Larkspur, Calif., rows for the Marin Rowing Association and has won gold medals in the eight at the San Diego Crew Classic, Windermere Cup Opening Day and Windermere Collegiate Crew Classic.
