NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- The Yale women's crew has been selected to participate in the NCAA Team Championships on May 30-June 1 at Eagle Creek Reservoir in Indianapolis. The Bulldogs, who earned an invitation to the team championships for the second straight year, will field two boats of eight rowers each and one boat of four rowers.
"It's exciting to get a team bid in a year when we have a young team and thought we might be rebuilding," said Yale head coach Will Porter.
Yale's varsity eight boat, which is ranked 11th in the nation in the latest USRowing poll, had a 8-3 overall record and placed fourth at the EAWRC Sprints on May 18.
The following teams join Yale in the field: Brown, Harvard, California, Washington, Stanford, Ohio State, Michigan State, Michigan, Virginia, Washington State and Princeton. Four at-large eights also were selected: Boston University, Texas, Tennessee and USC.
