Yale Heads to Collegiate Squad Championships
Looks to Build on Last Year's Result
NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Heading to NYU for the second United States College Squad Championships on Feb. 26, the Yale women's fencing team will look to improve upon its performance last year in New York.
The Bulldogs took home a pair of sixth-place finishes and a seventh-place finish at the inaugural Collegiate Squad Championships last year.
As part of that result, the epee squad placed sixth overall, the foil squad placed seventh and the sabre squad finished in sixth.
But many of the fencers from that team are returning this weekend, with more experience under their belts. So far this season, the Bulldogs have notched up victories against Sacred Heart, Vassar and Brown, as well as a fifth place-finish at the Ivy League Championships.
After this weekend, Yale has a two week break before competing at the NCAA Northeast Regionals on March 11.
