INDIANAPOLIS — Sophomore Lauren Miller and senior Madeline Oliver will represent the Yale women's fencing team at the Mar. 21-24 NCAA National Championship in foil and saber, respectively.

The NCAA Men's and Women's Fencing Committee announced the field of 144 fencers here in Indianapolis on Tuesday. Two members of the Yale men's fencing team will also compete at the NCAA National Championships, which will be co-hosted this year by The University of the Incarnate Word and San Antonio Sports at the Freeman Coliseum in San Antonio, Texas.

Qualification was based on performance throughout the season and the results of the NCAA Northeast Regional, which the Bulldogs competed in on Mar. 10 at St. John's Carnesecca Arena and Taffner Field House in Queens, N.Y.

At the NCAA Northeast Regional, Oliver finished seventh in saber competition to qualify for the NCAA National Championship in seventh place. Miller brought her experience to bear—she finished seventh at last year's NCAA National Championship—to finish in ninth place, a result that, when combined with her season results, put her through to the NCAA National Championship in seventh place.
