Women's Fencing Defeats Cornell, Has Three All-Ivy Finishers

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Yale women's fencing team finished in fifth place at the two-day Ivy League Championships this weekend. The Bulldogs began the second day of competiton with two losses against Penn and Columbia but ended the competition with a solid 19-8 victory over Cornell. This win over Cornell is the team's first in recent memory.

In addition, three members of the women's fencing team received presitigous All-Ivy honors. Senior Ilana Kamber, junior Sarah Pak, and sophomore Michelle Nam all made Second Team All-Ivy: Kamber and Pak both finished in sixth place in their events and Nam came in fourth in epee.

This tournament marks the end of team-related competition for the Bulldogs. They will not travel again until March, when only ten members will compete at the NCAA Northeast Regionals to determine qualification to the NCAA Championships.
