Wolf Earns Ivy Rookie of the Week
Helped Bulldogs Win Season Finale
NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Freshman back Molly Wolf (Endwell, N.Y.), who scored the game-winning goal with 2:08 to play in the season finale Saturday at Brown, was named Ivy League Rookie of the Week on Tuesday. With the win, Yale set the school record for Ivy League wins in a four-year span (20).
Wolf is the first Yale player to earn Ivy League Rookie of the Week since junior midfielder Erica Borgo (Randolph, N.J.) did so on Nov. 9, 2010. Wolf's goal, her second of the season, capped a quick comeback by the Bulldogs, who trailed 1-0 entering the final 10 minutes. After sophomore forward Jessie Accurso (Jamison, Pa.) tied the game, a penalty corner in the final minutes enabled Yale to set up Wolf for the game-winner.
With Wolf playing a key role in the defense, Saturday also marked the third time this season Yale held an Ivy League opponent to just one goal.
Wolf attended Maine-Endwell High School and is in Silliman College at Yale.
