Princeton, N.J. - The women's golf team had a promising start to their 2010-2011 season, as they not only posted the lowest combined team score on the weekend - edging host Princeton by three strokes - but also boasted the tournament's top individual finisher, freshman Seo Hee Moon, who was the only individual under par after the weekend's 54-holes at -2, a full five strokes ahead of the second place finisher.
Senior Harriet Owens-Bradley also had a strong Sunday, improving her seventh-place position after Saturday's rounds by shooting a 75 to move into a tie for sixth overall. Junior Cassie Boles shot a 6-over 78 in her final 18 holes of the weekend, placing her in a tie for 18th overall, and sophomore Alex Lipa finished the weekend just one stroke behind her, tied for 20th in the tournament.
Moon's opening-round 68 Saturday was the low score of the weekend, as no other player broke 70 on the par-72 Springdale Country Club Course. Yale's combined score of 896 for the weekend was just three ahead of the Tigers' 899, but a full 11 strokes of the third place finisher, Penn's Quakers.
The Bulldogs are back in action next weekend as they host the Yale Women's Intercollegiate Tournament next weekend at the Golf Course at Yale, recently named the #1 Collegiate course in the country by Golfweek magazine.
