Bulldogs Open 2011 with 295-313 Win Over Longwood

LAKE WALES, Fla. - The Yale women's golf team opened its 2011 spring season with a win over Longwood University Tuesday, thanks in large part to the dynamic freshmen duo of Seo Hee Moon (70) and Sun Park (72), who were the day's top two finishers.

Junior Lily Boettcher also had a big day for the Bulldogs, posting a 75 on the par-70 Mountain Lake Golf Course, which tied her with the top finisher for Longwood on the day. Captain Alyssa Roland (78) and classmate Cassie Boles (82) also started 2011 strong for Yale, rounding out the Blue-and-White's top five.

As for Bulldogs competing as individuals, senior Harriet Owers-Bradley topped Yale's three, shooting a 73, the third best score of the day. Sophomore Alex Lipa also played well, firing a 75, just ahead of classmate Joy Kim's 76, making for an impressive day all around for Coach Chawwadee Rompothong '00's squad.

Yale has a quick turnaround after its trip to Florida, as the Bulldogs compete at the William and Mary Invitational Saturday and Sunday in Virginia.
