WILLIAMSBURG, V.A. - Sophomore Joy Kim's hole-in-one on the par-3 twelfth hole at Ford's County C.C. propelled the Yale women's golf team to a victory over the 22-team field at this weekend's C&F Bank Invitational. Her second-round 76 sent her to an eighth-place finish, 13 strokes off the pace of freshman Seo Hee Moon who blew away the rest of the field by six strokes to take home the individual championship.
Moon's Saturday round of 6-under 66 was the tournament's best, and she finished at 2-under for the tournament. Kim was Yale's second-best finisher, using rounds of 79 and 76 to take eigth, just ahead of captain Alyssa Roland, who tied for 11th with rounds of 74 and 82.
Freshman Sun Park charged up the leaderboard with a Sunday 76 to tie for 14th, just a stroke behind Roland's 156, and senior Harriet Owers-Bradley used an opening-round 76 as she tied for 39th.
The Bulldogs finished at +30 overall for the weekend, ten strokes ahead of second-place St. John's, and 19 strokes ahead of third-place Penn.
