Park's Final Round 74 Paces Bulldogs on Final Day at Rio Verde Invitational

Sophomore Sun Gyoung Park fired Yale's lowest round of the three-day Rio Verde Invitational Sunday - a 74 - to tie for 14th overall in the individual standings. That finish matched her team's 14th-place finish at Quail Run Golf Course in the squad's first action of the spring season.

Junior Joy Kim also closed out the tournament in style, shooting a Sunday 76. That, combined with her Friday and Saturday rounds of 82, left her tied for 52nd, Yale's second-best finished.

Sophomore Seo Hee Moon finished just a stroke behind Kim and tied for 55th by dint of her final round 81, and captain Lily Boettcher's 82 left her tied for 72nd overall. Callie Kemmer rode a combined score of 251 to a tie for 77th on the weekend.

With a team score of 956, the Bulldogs finished out of reach of final champion Kansas (900). But they were a mere ten strokes out of the top ten in their first outing of a new season against the strongest field they have faced in recent memory, outside of last year's NCAA Regional. Yale will take to the course again March 17 against another tough field at the William and Mary Invitational in Williamsburg, Virginia.
