Still On Top of Golfweek Rankings
NEW HAVEN, Conn. — When Golfweek announced its annual ranking of the Best Campus Courses on Sept. 6, The Course at Yale in New Haven, Conn. found itself atop the list.
The Course at Yale notched up a average rating of 7.50, substantially above second- and third-place courses Taconic GC and Palouse Ridge GC, which scored 6.91 and 6.42, respectively. No other golf course associated with an Ivy League rival finds itself in the top 10.
Designed by champion golfer and co-founder of the USGA Charles Blair Macdonald, the Course at Yale is an exemplar of the early American golf course and has been voted the number one college golf course in America.
For the Yale men's golf team, The Course at Yale is the site of the Macdonald Cup and the Yale Spring Opener. The Yale women's team, meanwhile, plays the Yale Intercollegiate at The Course at Yale.
The Course at Yale has clinched top spot in Golfweek's annual rankings for at least the past three years.
