Bulldogs Clinch Second Place
Moon Finishes in Fourth Individually
GAITHERSBERG, Md. — Diligent play on a day of relatively low scoring enabled the Yale women's golf team to claim second place here at the Apr. 8-9 Hoya Invitational.
Already in second place after 36 holes, the Bulldogs steered clear of trouble Tuesday to finish securely in a same position, with an overall score of 907, 11 strokes clear of third place Seton Hall. Tournament winner Campbell finished at 894.
Amid a tough 14-strong field, including Ancient Eight rivals Brown and Penn, Yale put together a slate of consistent performances at The Member's Club at Four Streams Golf Course here in Gaithersberg, Md.
Junior Seo Hee Moon finished in outright fourth place with a 217 overall, while sophomore Shreya Ghei notched up a 227 to finish in seventh place. Another sophomore, Marika Liu, was not far behind in a tie for 11th place at 230.
Next up on the Bulldogs' calendar is the Apr. 14-15 Brown Invitational, which will be Yale's last opportunity to tune-up before the Apr. 26-28 Ivy League Championship.
