NEW HAVEN, Conn.—Behind the remarkable performance of Junior Jennifer Peng (-6) the Yale women's golf A-Team captured third place at the Yale Intercollegiate. The 19 teams competing this weekend were scheduled for another round of competition today, but due to inclement weather, all competition on the Course at Yale was cancelled. The Yale B-team ended the tournament in 19th place.
The Yale A-Team concluded the competition in third place with a round one score of 294 and a round two score of 291. Peng was strong throughout the two days of competition, scoring rounds of 70 and 66 for a final score of 136. She tied for the individual title with Boston College's Tara Liebert.
Behind Peng, senior Elisabeth Bernabe and junior Julie Luo were the next highest scoring members from Yale, both earning a total score of 149 landing them in a tie for 28th. Overall, they played consistently throughout the tournament and helped the A-Team move from day one's fifth place finish to a final third place finish.
Yale's B-Team had a total score of 633, leaving them in 19th place.
The Bulldogs' fall season has come to close. As they go into the winter training season, they look to continue to perform with consistency and improve their finishes in the spring season.
