Junior Jennifer Peng continues to play exceptionally well and with consistency. She ended day two with a score of 71, improving from her day one score by a point. Her solid performance during the final round of competition bumped her in the rankings from T10th to T4th place with an overall score of 143. Peng hopes to carry this momentum into the next tournament and throughout the season.
Also helping to secure the Bulldogs a seventh place finish, Junior Jayshree Sarathy ended round two with a score of 78 for an overall score of 152. She ended the tournament scoring among the top twenty-five golfers in T22nd place. Sophomore Julie Luo drastically improved on the second day of competition, with a second round score of 74. Senior and captain Sandy Wongwaiwate also improved greatly, with a second round score of 75. Freshman Felicia Chang also contributed to helping the Bulldogs take seventh with a second round score of 85.
Yale's B-Team also held their own during the tournament, holding on to their 11th place position throughout the tournament. Freshman Beryl Wang and senior Sydney Babiak were in sync throughout the two days of play. During round two, both golfers improved their day one scores by five points, ending with scores of 75 and overall scores of 155. Senior Elisabeth Bernabe also had a great second round with a score of 76. Fellow senior Sara Garmezy ended round two with a score of 84.
Overall, the Bulldogs came into the spring season strong overall. If they keep up with their consistency and strong play, they could really be major contenders come the Ivy League Championships.
