NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Yale gymnastics team
opens its season on Sunday at the four-team New Hampshire
Invitational. In addition to host New Hampshire, Utah State and
Ball State will be present.
New Hampshire is coming off a narrow 189.725-188.925 victory at
Rutgers, whom Yale will face on Mar. 13, while Ball State lost its
opening meet against Western Michigan, 187.425-189.2. Utah State
has yet to open the season, but it will face Central Michigan on
Friday before traveling to New Hampshire.
The meet on Sunday will be the first time Yale’s four
freshmen, who are looking to make an immediate impact on the
program, compete in a Yale uniform. The Bulldog upperclassmen,
though, will see a familiar foe in New Hampshire. Last year, both
teams competed alongside each other during a meet at Bridgeport,
with the Bulldogs finishing third.
Competition starts at 1:00 p.m. in New Hampshire’s Lundholm
Gymnasium.
