NEW HAVEN, Conn. - After traveling across New Haven to face Southern Connecticut State last weekend, the Yale women’s gymnastics team returns home to face Springfield College on Saturday. Yale has not faced Springfield since 2008, when the Bulldogs defeated the Pride 185.225-182.400 at a six-way meet.
At SCSU, the Bulldogs finished second out of five teams, receiving a score of 186.925. The Bulldogs were paced by freshman Tara Feld, who finished second in the all-around competition with a score of 38.100, earning her an ECAC Rookie of the Week award for the second week in a row.
Springfield, ranked third nationally among Division III schools, defeated Cortland at home last Saturday 185.300-183.300 for its first win since its season-opening meet against Rhode Island College, whom the Bulldogs defeated last weekend at SCSU. In addition to the Anchorwomen, Yale and Springfield have both faced Ithaca and SCSU. Yale defeated both teams, while Springfield lost both meets.
