NEW HAVEN, Conn. - After producing its highest score of the season in a 188.925-183.000 victory over Springfield College last week, the Yale gymnastics team faces in-state opponents Southern Connecticut State and Bridgeport this Saturday at home in a final tune-up for next weekend’s Ivy Classic. The meet will also serve as Senior Day for the Bulldogs. Seniors Brigitte Kivisto and Allison Mak will be honored. Fans can sign up for an online video stream of the event at for $6.95.

Against Springfield, Yale posted season-best team totals in three out of four events. Kivisto finished first in three events while freshman Tara Feld won the all-around competition. Mak placed first on the balance beam.

Saturday’s meet will be a meeting of familiar foes, as Yale faced both teams at a five-way competition held at SCSU on Feb. 6, finishing in second place behind Bridgeport but defeating SCSU. Since then, Bridgeport, ranked second nationally in Division II, has gone undefeated, winning two meets held last weekend. On Saturday, the Purple Knights won the Cornell Big Red Invitational, and on Sunday, they defeated Brown and Penn in Providence, R.I. SCSU also competed in the Cornell Big Red Invitational, finishing fourth behind Bridgeport, Cornell, and Towson.

Competition starts at 1:00 p.m. at Yale’s John J. Lee Amphitheater.
