NEW HAVEN, Conn. – After defeating Southern Connecticut State 187.450-185.850 in its final home meet of the year, the Yale gymnastics team travels to Philadelphia on Sunday for the Ivy Classic, where it will be joined by fellow Ivy League squads from Penn, Brown, and Cornell. The Bulldogs will be looking to avenge a fourth-place finish at last year's Ivy Classic, which was won by Cornell.
The Big Red is most likely the favorite to win again, having produced scores above 190 four times this year, including at last week's Towson Invitational. Brown has yet to win a meet this year, but the Bears are coming off a 191.500-point performance at last week's UNH Invitational in New Hampshire. Penn is also streaking right now, with three straight wins, including a 187.200-181.000 defeat of Yale.
Competition begins at 1 p.m. at the Palestra.
