NEW HAVEN, Conn. – After dropping its home opener against Penn last Sunday, the Yale gymnastics team will be back on the road this weekend, competing in a tri-meet in Durham, N.H., against George Washington and UNH on Sunday Feb. 3.

The Bulldogs hope to build on the strong performances delivered by a number of gymnasts last weekend against Penn.  Tara Feld has had an impressive senior season so far and was on form against the Quakers, finishing third in the all-around and second in three individual events.  Sophomore Morgan Traina, last season's ECAC Rookie of the Year, tied with Feld for second on the uneven bars and finished second on the beam against Penn.  Junior Ashley O'Connor and freshman Brittney Sooksengdao also performed well against the defending Ivy champions and will look to make large contributions against George Washington and UNH on Sunday.

The Bulldogs became quite familiar with GW last year, facing off against the Colonials in Yale's last two regular season meets.  Yale dropped a tight dual meet at GW last year by a score of 192.975-191.175.  The next weekend, the Bulldogs finished fourth in a quad-meet in which GW came in second.

Yale only competed against UNH once last year, in a tri-meet that also included Brown.  Yale finished second in that competition, scoring 190.275 to New Hampshire's 195.475.  Yale gymnasts took three of the top four places in the all-around at last year's meet, with Feld finishing first, Traina third and current sophomore Joyce Li in fourth.

The meet is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday.
