NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Yale women's gymnastics team will compete in its third meet in a week on Friday, as the Bulldogs travel to Williamsburg, Va., to compete against William and Mary in their last regular season meet. The Bulldogs are looking to build on their spectacular performance on Tuesday, when they scored a 193.475, the team's highest total score since 2004.
In Tuesday afternoon's quad-meet against Bridgeport, Brown and Rhode Island, Yale received spectacular performances from a number of different gymnasts. Senior Tara Feld broke her own Yale record on the vault, scoring a 9.900 to finish tied for second overall. Freshman Brittney Sooksengdao set a career-best with a 9.800 on the vault to tie for seventh. Sophomore Morgan Traina tied for first place on the beam, scoring a season-high 9.800. Senior Lindsay Andsager was third on the bars with a 9.825. Overall, five gymnasts set a total of 10 personal bests for the Bulldogs in the meet.
Yale faced William and Mary last season, finishing third in a tri-meet that also included Towson. Yale scored a 187.950 in that meet, behind second-place William and Mary's 190.325.
The meet is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m.
