NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Seven Yale gymnasts have qualified for the USAG Collegiate Nationals and will compete in the meet this weekend at Centenary College in Shreveport, La. Also sending gymnasts will be Air Force, Bridgeport, Brown, Centenary, Cornell, Lindenwood, Penn, Seattle Pacific, Southern Connecticut, Temple, Texas Woman's and West Chester.
Yale was unable to qualify as a team, so the participating Bulldogs will be competing in the Individual event finals on Sunday. Three gymnasts, senior Tara Feld, sophomore Joyce Li and sophomore Morgan Traina have qualified for the all-around competition and will compete on all four apparatuses. Senior Lindsay Andsager and junior Nicole Tay will compete on the bars for the Bulldogs, senior captain Stephanie Goldstein has qualified for both the balance beam and the floor exercise and freshman Brittney Sooksengdao will compete on the vault.
"We're all really excited to make the trip to Shreveport," Goldstein commented when asked about competing at Collegiate Nationals, "We have a lot of strong competitors and will represent Yale well at the meet."
Competition on Saturday will begin at 1:00 p.m.
