NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Following an excellent performance in a quad-meet with Brown, Minnesota and New Hampshire, junior gymnast Morgan Traina was named the ECAC Division I Co-Gymnast of the Week for the week ending on Jan. 19. Brown senior Michelle Shnayder shared the award with Traina.
In the Bulldogs' season-opening meet, Traina led the way, finishing with the top Yale score in all four events. She was seventh on the bars with a 9.750, seventh on the beam with a 9.650, 13th of the floor exercise with a 9.700 (tying a career high) and 18th on the vault with a 9.450. Traina finished fifth in the all-around with a total of 38.550 points.
Despite Traina's strong all-around execution, the Bulldogs finished fourth in the meet, with a score of 187.500. For a full recap, click here.
