PHILADELPHIA, Penn. -- The Yale gymnastics team wrapped up its season today at the ECAC championships, finishing fifth in a competitive field with a team score of 189.850.
On the bars, junior Morgan Traina had the highest score on the day for the Bulldogs, scoring a 9.775 to finish in a tie for third place. Senior Nicole Tay, in her last meet, tied for sixth place with a score of 9.700.
Traina was exellent on the beam as well, finishing in second place with a score of 9.775, only .025 points out of first place.
On the vault, sophomore Camilla Opperman scored Yale's top score, with a 9.650 to finish in a tie for sixth place.
Traina had a strong meet overall, finishing fifth in the all-around with a score of 38.675.
Saturday's meet was the final meet in the Yale careers of captain Ashley O'Connor, Tay and Tabitha Tay. Their strong leadership this year set the tone for a successful season and helped lay the foundation for more success in the coming years.
