Elis Drop First Game of 2019
New Haven, CONN. - The Yale women's hockey team carried a 3-2 lead into the third before dropping Tuesday night's game 4-3 to the University of New Hampshire at Ingalls. Three different Elis found twine in the first game of the second half.
Claire Dalton, carrying momentum from last game's three-point performance, put Yale on the board late in the first period with her fourth tally of the season. Dalton created separation on an outlet pass from junior defenseman Saroya Tinker. Tinker earned her sixth assist on the play.
Senior captain Emma Vlasic, in her 100th-career game, gave her team a 2-1 lead five minutes into the second with her sixth goal this season. Her linemates Jordan Chancellor and Greta Skarzynski notched the assists.
New Hampshire answered Vlasic's goal with a goal of their own just 16 seconds later to tie the game 2-2. But, three minutes later, senior defenseman Julia Yetman converted on a power play, giving the Bulldogs a 3-2 advantage heading into the final period.
The Yale women's hockey team takes home ice on Friday against Brown University before heading to Meehan Auditorium to face Brown at their barn. Both games are scheduled for 6 p.m.
