NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Yale senior forward Deena Caplette (Winnipeg, Man.) and senior goaltender Sarah Love (Bayfield, Ont.) have been named second team All-Ivy League in women's hockey. Freshman forward Crysti Howser (Wilmette, Ill.) earned honorable mention recognition.
All three played key roles in helping the Bulldogs to a berth in the ECAC Hockey League quarterfinals, a best-of-three series at No. 2 St. Lawrence that starts this Friday.
Caplette had a team-best 10 points (4-6-10) in Ivy League play, and she and Howser tied for the team lead in overall points (10-13-23 for Caplette, 11-12-23 for Howser).
Howser had four goals and three assists in Ivy games. She was also honored by the league in soccer this past fall, earning Rookie of the Year and first team All-Ivy recognition.
Love had a .935 save percentage in Ivy games and a 2.09 goals-against average.
Yale went 5-3-2 in Ivy League games, falling just short of the school's first league title with a 3-0 loss at Princeton in the final game of the regular season. Princeton finished 7-2-1.
