Yale's 2-0 series win over No. 10 Princeton in the ECACHL quarterfinals meant the Bulldogs had an off day Sunday, but there was still one piece of news. St. Lawrence's 5-2 victory over Brown in game three of their quarterfinal series finalized the semifinal matchups for next weekend at Union's Messa Rink in Schenectady. With the Saints advancing as the No. 3 seed, the Bulldogs will be the No. 4 seed. That means a matchup with No. 1 seed Harvard in the first semifinal game, Saturday March 12 at 1 p.m. The Saints and No. 2 seed Dartmouth will meet in the 4 p.m. game.
The championship game will be played on Sunday, March 13 at 2 p.m. The game will be televised and broadcast via the following outlets: Time Warner Albany, Time Warner Syracuse, Cox Cable (Rhode Island), CN8/Comcast (New England, Mid-Atlantic) and Adelphia Cable (Burlington, Vt., and Hanover, N.H.). Mike Rubin will serve as the play-by-play announcer, while Julie Sasner will provide the color commentary.
In addition to the games, championship weekend also features a Championship Banquet Friday night at 7 p.m. at The Inn at College Park, where the ECACHL post-season awards will be announced. There will also be a post-banquet reception for families, fans and friends at the Holiday Inn-Holidome from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. that night. Further information on the playoffs will be available on yalebulldogs.com later this week.
