NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Sophomore defenseman Helen Resor (Greenwich, Conn.) added to her post-season accolades by earning a spot on the New England Hockey Writers Div. I Women's All-Star team Wednesday.
Resor, who was also second team All-ECAC and second team All-Ivy this year, had 20 points (5-15-20) in 24 games. After spending the 2005-06 season with Team USA and playing in the 2006 Olympics, she finished fifth on the Bulldogs in scoring this year despite missing seven games -- two while playing for Team USA at the Four Nations Cup in November and five while recovering from an injury in January. Next week she will play for the U.S. in the IIHF Women's World Championship.
Resor was second among ECAC defensemen in scoring in conference play (1.00 ppg, 5-13-18 in 18 conference games). Her cousins, sophomore Carry Resor (Westwood, Mass.) and senior Nina Resor (Westwood, Mass.), also played defense for the Bulldogs.
The All-Stars will be honored at the hockey writers' annual banquet, which will be held on Wednesday, April 11 at the Prince Restaurant on Route 1 in Saugus, Mass.
