Sept. 20, 2005

Goaltender Sarah Love (Bayfield, Ont.) was named to the preseason All-ECACHL team and Yale was picked for 4th in the coaches' poll at the league's annual Media Day Tuesday. With 68 points in the poll, the Bulldogs trailed St. Lawrence (97 points, 8 first-place votes), Dartmouth (84, 1) and Harvard (81, 2). The league also released its media poll, in which Yale was picked for 6th.

Love, who owns the school single-season records for wins (14), save percentage (.931) and goals-against average (2.25), is a two-time team MVP and was second team All-ECAC in 2003-04.

The Bulldogs won a school-record 16 games last season, registering their first playoff victory and first appearance in the ECACHL semifinals.

Yale opens the regular season Oct. 28 at Ingalls Rink against Quinnipiac in the first game of the Nutmeg Classic.
