Bulldogs Wrap Up Preseason Preparation With Princeton Scrimmage
Oct. 14, 2006
NEW HAVEN, Conn. - With the regular season only a week away, Yale took advantage of a Saturday afternoon scrimmage with Princeton at Ingalls Rink for some final pre-season preparation. The Tigers came away with a 2-0 win, but the game could have been much closer -- sophomore defenseman Helen Resor, back with Yale after spending last season with Team USA for the Olympics, hit the post twice.
"We did a ton of things well, and the game was evenly matched," said head coach Hilary Witt. "For our first scrimmage, it was more than I expected."
Witt also praised Yale's performance on special teams, as the Bulldogs limited the Tigers to just one power-play goal.
"Overall, it was a great team effort," Witt said. "It makes me very optimistic."
Yale opens the regular season Saturday at Boston College (2:00 p.m.).
