NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Freshman goaltender Jackee Snikeris (Downingtown, Pa.) was named ECAC Hockey Rookie of the Week Monday. Snikeris made 31 saves to record a shutout in her second collegiate start Saturday, a 3-0 win over Brown. That was the first time Yale has shut out the Bears since Feb. 10, 1988.
Snikeris made four of her saves during a 5-on-3 late in the second and early in the third with her team clinging to a 2-0 lead. The first star of the game, she had several spectacular stops early and finished with her second win of the season. Overall she has played 119:57 and has a 1.00 goals-against average and a .947 save percentage.
Prior to Yale Snikeris played for the Connecticut Polar Bears and was a five-time USA Hockey player development camp invitee.
