Class of 2017 Looks to Make Immediate Contributions
Looking to continue the momentum of last season, when the Bulldogs posted their best win total in five years, the Yale women’s lacrosse team welcomes 10 freshmen to the roster for the 2014 season. The Class of 2017 represents seven different states. The group is composed of three attackers, three defenders, three midfielders and one midfielder/defender.

Ashley Casiano Joins Yale Staff
Ashley Casiano, a two-time all-conference goaltender for Marist who helped the Red Foxes to the NCAA Tournament in 2010, has joined the Yale women’s lacrosse staff as an assistant coach. She joins returning assistant coach Tanya Kotowicz to form the staff under Anne Phillips, Yale’s Joel E. Smilow, Class of 1954 Head Coach of Women’s Lacrosse.

Bulldogs Make Impact at World Cup
Yale was well-represented at the recent Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL) Women’s Lacrosse World Cup. The United States won the World Cup, and Anne Phillips -- Yale’s Joel E. Smilow, Class of 1954 Head Coach of Women’s Lacrosse -- oversaw the selection of the U.S. roster. Phillips has been U.S. National Team Selection Chair since 2008. Additionally, two former Yale players -- attacker Jenna Block ‘10 and midfielder Sara Greenberg ’09 -- played for Israel, which finished eighth. Yale assistant coach Tanya Kotowicz was an alternate for Germany, which finished 12th.

Yale Well-Represented at Upcoming World Cup
Yale will be well-represented at the upcoming Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL) Women’s Lacrosse World Cup. Two former players -- attacker Jenna Block ‘10 and midfielder Sara Greenberg ’09 -- will be playing for Israel. Additionally, assistant coach Tanya Kotowicz is an alternate for Germany. The World Cup, which features 19 teams, will be held at the Oshawa Civic Recreation Centre near Toronto, Canada, from July 11-20.
