Racing at Nationals Finishes Today, Bulldogs Sitting Sixth

Marlena Fauer '14 and Eugenia Custo Greig '14 Round the Windward Mark at the 2011 ICSA Women's National Championship

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla.-- The final eight races of the ICSA Women's Dinghy National Championship will be sailed this afternoon.  Fourteen races have been sailed in both A and B division so far and race 15A is scheduled to start at noon today.

The No. 2 Yale women's sailing team is currently in sixth in the overall standings with a total of 222 points.  Dartmouth leads the regatta with 149 points, followed by Boston College and St. Mary's College of Maryland which both have 188 points.

With more than 20 percent of the regatta left to be sailed, anything could happen.  With five knots of wind from the west already on the race course, things look good for racing to begin on time.  Conditions are likely to be very similar to yesterday which saw a 8-10 knot sea breeze for most of the afternoon.
