NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The No. 3 Yale women's sailing team will compete at the Reed Trophy this weekend, which serves as the New England Championship. The event is the culmination of this season's hard work, and the Bulldogs are looking forward to sailing against the top teams in their conference. If they finish in the top nine, they will advance to the National Semifinals in Charleston in the end of May.
Skippers junior Casey Klingler and freshman Louisa Nordstrom will compete with senior crews Natalya Doris and Isabelle Rossi de Leon, respectively. Junior captain Claire Huebner will sub in if the breeze picks up.
This year, the Reed will be hosted at Brown. The breeze looks light and variable on Saturday, beginning with a northerly and clocking right throughout the day. Sunday's easterly breeze will be around 10 knots with slightly stronger puffs, making for much better sailing.
Racing begins at 10:30 a.m. Follow results live at http://scores.collegesailing.org.
